The Lord’s Prayer: the Seventh Request

Instead, rescue us from the evil one.
Matthew 6:13

What does this mean?

We sum everything up when we pray in this request that our Father in heaven would rescue us from every evil whether it affects our bodies, souls, property or honor. We also pray that when our last hour comes, our Father will grant us a blessed end to our life. Finally, we pray that he will kindly take us from this world of misery to himself in heaven.
