The Apostles’ Creed: God Creates Us
The First Article is About God Creating Us
I believe in God, the almighty Father, the maker of heaven and earth.
What does this mean?
I believe that God has made me and every creature.
He has given me my body and soul, eyes, ears, all the other parts of my body, my mind, and all my senses.
He continues to take care of everything he has given me.
He also gives me clothing and shoes, food and drink, house and home, spouse and children, property, animals, and everything I have.
Every day he richly provides me with everything I need to live.
God defends me from danger.
He guards and protects me from evil.
He does all of these things because of his fatherly, divine goodness and mercy.
I have done nothing to earn this, and I do not deserve this.
Therefore, it is my duty to thank, praise, serve, and obey him.
This is most certainly true!
