Jesus Teaches on Division & Unity

Immersing ourselves in the teachings of Jesus helps center us in his truth. The single most significant piece of evidence we have regarding the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus is the Bible. If you want to know what he really said, really did, and really claimed, you need to read the Bible.

Jesus is unlike any other person who ever walked this planet…. Jesus changed the life and destiny of every person he encountered who saw in him the uniqueness of God’s Son, our Savior. —Dr. Woodrow Kroll

Wherever Jesus went, whomever he met, whatever challenges he faced, the Gospel writers were there. They kept a record of every important lesson Jesus shared with his closest disciples as well as the sermons he proclaimed to the huge crowds that followed him.

On Division

“Whoever isn’t with me is against me. Whoever doesn’t gather with me scatters.”
Matthew 12:30

“Do you think I came to bring peace to earth? No! I can guarantee that I came to bring nothing but division. From now on a family of five will be divided. Three will be divided against two and two against three.”
Luke 12:51-52

“If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot last. And if a household is divided against itself, that household will not last.”
Mark 3:24-25

On Unity

“I can guarantee this truth: I haven’t found faith as great as this in anyone in Israel. I can guarantee that many will come from all over the world. They will eat with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 8:10-11

“My flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood live in me, and I live in them.”
John 6:55-56

“I also have other sheep that are not from this pen. I must lead them. They, too, will respond to my voice. So they will be one flock with one shepherd.”
John 10:16

“Live in me, and I will live in you. A branch cannot produce any fruit by itself. It has to stay attached to the vine. In the same way, you cannot produce fruit unless you live in me.”
John 15:4

“I pray that all of these people continue to have unity in the way that you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I pray that they may be united with us so that the world will believe that you have sent me.”
John 17:21
