God’s Word for Today: September 22

Mark 7:24 to Mark 9:1

As Jesus continued to amaze people with his teaching and healing, certain Jewish leaders tried to undermine his popularity.

Why didn’t Jesus do a miracle in front of the Pharisees to prove to them that he was sent from God? Because he had already performed many miracles, which thousands of people had witnessed. He knew that performing one for the Pharisees wouldn’t have increased their faith.

Also, Peter acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah. Then Jesus told his disciples that it would be very difficult to follow him.

Today, ask God to give you strength so that you will be able to love, trust, and obey him no matter what difficulty you face.
