God’s Word for Today: June 12

Proverbs 5:1–23

Sexual sin is very foolish. People who yield to this temptation suffer consequences the rest of their lives.

What’s on your mind? How differently would you live your life if you knew that everyone you encountered could read your mind? What if they knew exactly what you were thinking, considering, and feeling? One of the theological terms used to describe God is omniscient, meaning he knows everything. Everything includes all our thoughts and motivations. We may be able to fool or hide our true feelings from those closest to us, but not from God. Nothing we do is hidden from him.

Today, if you have to spend a lot of time with a member of the opposite sex who is not your spouse, ask God to help you be careful. Be sure that association does not turn into a romantic relationship.
