God’s Word for Today: July 30

Jeremiah 16:1 to Jeremiah 20:18

God controlled every detail of Jeremiah’s life and used him as an illustration of what would happen to the people (see 16:1-17 and 17:9-20:6).

How can you grow your trust in God?

• Read, memorize, and think deeply about his word.
• Pray to him in all circumstances.
• Sing praises to him day and night.
• Join with other believers in worship to him.
• Care for and serve the needy.

Focus on this passage:

Blessed is the person who trusts the LORD.
The LORD will be his confidence.
He will be like a tree that is planted by water.
It will send its roots down to a stream.
It will not be afraid in the heat of summer.
Its leaves will turn green.
It will not be anxious during droughts.
It will not stop producing fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8

Christians should live as God’s representatives on earth. Today, ask God to show you what changes you can make that will allow you to represent him better.
