God’s Word for Today: December 8

Hebrews 8:1 to Hebrews 10:23

Jesus is the perfect priest and the perfect sacrifice. No Old Testament priest or sacrifice could achieve greater results than Jesus. As a result, any follower of Christ can enter God’s presence by praying.

How was Jesus’ death on the cross unlike the sacrifices of the Old Testament? Jesus, who is sinless, died once and for all time on the cross. He then entered heaven with his blood as a sacrifice for humanity. The Jewish chief priest had to offer the sacrifice of goats and bulls every year in order to cleanse himself and the people from sin.

Today, ask God to allow you to speak to someone this week about this good news–Jesus provides forgiveness of sins!
